Sustainable Community Strategy Consultation The Draft Sustainable Community Strategy 2009-19 (SCS) (173KB) The strategy was originally developed in 2003 based on consultation with over 3000 people. The Sustainable Community Strategy sets out how we aim to improve quality of life in the borough and reduce inequality and is supported by the key strategies from across the seven thematic partnerships of the TSP. Both the vision and the aims remain the same since the creation of the strategy. These are provided below: The Community Strategy Vision: ‘Tameside is a good place to live, and we want to make it even better. We want it to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds feel at home and able to get involved in the life of the community, where they can contribute to a prosperous local economy, feel safe and healthy, and take active responsibility for the environment in which they live’ This is supported by six aims:
The SCS reflects the views of local people. The updated priorities have been developed based on extensive recent consultation and engagement from a series of surveys and events held with residents, businesses and voluntary organisations. Therefore the Tameside Strategic Partnership Board is keen to get the views of residents on the draft document (the final version will be a professionally designed document). You may have already had your say on the big issues contained in the document but we welcome any additions or new feedback. Comments should be provided in writing to partnership.coord@tameside.gov.uk by 15th July 2009. View the Draft Sustainable Community Strategy 2009-19 (SCS) (173KB)
