Tameside Strategic Partnership Many Partners, One Direction

Strategic Housing and Listening to the Homelessness

The new Housing Strategy 2010 – 2016 is now in its final form and was discussed at Tameside’s Full Council meeting on 19th January. It was well received by the Tameside Strategic Partnership Board in December.
The new plan represents almost eighteen months of research and consultation, which has enabled the Housing Partnership to set its priorities for the next six years.
The three key strategic housing priorities for Tameside are:

1. Achieving the right quantity and quality of new housing
2. Continuing to raise the quality of the existing housing stock, services and neighbourhoods.
3. Connecting people to the improved housing offer.

The document is now available at http://www.tameside.gov.uk/housing

An update on the Homelessness Strategy, which was approved in 2008, was the focus for a special event last November. This successful event was led by users of the service who expressed their current views of the service using still images and drama.
